Solaris 7 and 8 has Dynamic Reconfiguration (DR) disabled by default. To verify if DR is enabled, check for the following entry in the /etc/system file:
set kernel_cage_enable=1
The recommended workaround for Solaris 7 and Solaris 8 is to leave DR disabled. If necessary, disable DR by editing the line in /etc/system to be as follows:
set kernel_cage_enable=0
